Uruguay plans to invest about US$705 million for railway projects

According to the country's ministry of transportation and public works (Mtop), announced that Uruguay's state railway administration (AFE) and rail group (CFU) will plan to build new railway projects with total investment approximately US$205 million.

The country has confirmed two railway projects are including the second stage of work for the Pintado-Rivera line which will require US$75 million in funding and the further development of the costal line of Piedra Sola-Algorta-Paysand-Salto at US$130 million.

In the meantime, the country has already total invested approximately US$705 million which included previous US$400~US$500 million into the projects.
